Rev. William L. George, S.J.
Fr. William L. George, S.J. was raised in Southern Maryland. He is currently The Senior Advisor to the President of the Gregorian University Foundation. Previously he was Adviser to the President for Major Projects Wheeling Jesuit Univ. 20013-18; President of Georgetown Prep from 2000-2010; served as Special Assistant Archdiocese of Washington-Tuition Assistance Fund 2010-1013; Assistant to three Presidents of Georgetown University for Federal Relations from 1975-2000; an English Teacher at St. Joe’s Prep 19-67-69, where he coached Varsity Tennis and Club Ice Hockey. Fr. George served as Chaplain of Knights of Columbus Fr. Andrew White Council, Southern Maryland, and from 1976-2013 served as Pastoral Assistant at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Lexington Park, Md. Father George is a barber by trade and enjoys hobbies of tennis, golf, hunting and fishing, all enjoyed with good bourbon. Father has a B.A. in English and Philosophy, Spring Hill College; an M.A. in English, University of Scranton; an M.Div., Weston School of Theology; and an M.A. in Telecommunications, Temple University. Father has served as Chairman of the Historic St. Mary’s City Commission since 2014 – as such he is an ex-officio member of the HSMC Foundation Board of Directors.
