Interesting Facts:
Fr. Maher visited all 50 states in the Union before turning 40, a promise he made to himself when he graduated from Georgetown. Among his other accomplishments, he attended the State of the Union Address in 1985, worked on Capitol Hill as a Senate staffer for four years, and kept his cool when the Supreme Court selected the president in 2000. Fr. Maher was the first Jesuit ever assigned to work in the country of Qatar.
